Rules
These are the rules the site enforces today: what the entry form accepts, and the limits that apply to visitors. They describe how the site behaves; they are not legal terms.
What an entry needs
- A product name and a founder name, each 2 to 60 characters.
- A website address that starts with http or https (https is added if you leave it off) and has a proper domain name.
- One of the 15 categories in the dropdown.
- A voice recording: record up to 60 seconds in the browser, or upload a file in webm, ogg, mp3, m4a or wav format. Uploads can be up to 4.0 MB and up to about 65 seconds long.
Placement amounts
- Whole dollars only: no cents, decimals or negative numbers.
- Free is a free placement. A sponsored placement is $1 to $10,000.
- Sponsored placement is only offered when the site team has switched it on. A sponsored entry also needs an email address for the payment receipt.
Limits for visitors
- Up to 5 new entries an hour from one network address.
- Up to 30 counted plays an hour from one network address. Playing is never blocked; only the counting is.
- A form submitted within 3 seconds of opening is refused, and submissions that look automated may be refused.
- When the site team closes submissions, the form says so and no new entries are accepted. Existing entries stay listed.
Review
Every new entry is reviewed before it is listed. The site team can approve, reject, hide, edit or delete an entry at any time, including one that has already been listed.
These rules describe the form and the site. Terms of use, privacy and refund wording have not been published yet.
